As a Senior Reporter at Youth Journalism International, I collaborate with teenagers from across the world to tell stories of our hometowns and their unique experiences. I've collaborated on award-winning long-term pieces about the pandemic's impact on teenagers and wrote about finding calm and stability the in Ann Arbor's hidden park.
My work at YJI connects me with teens from Mexico, Australia, Turkey and other countries, as we discuss our lives and connect them through articles about the high school experience.

Living in Ann Arbor
Through personal essays, I share glimpses of my life as a high school student living in Ann Arbor, Mich. From describing the "bleh" of Michigan winters to the complexities of having a large university be a part of a smaller city. In these hometown stories, I talk about how my city has shaped me as a journalist and how I believe I have shaped it. I examine the impacts of the pandemic on neighbor communication. The pieces focus in on the small details of my home, similar to what I did through The Murray Ave. Times and represent my focus as a journalist: areas that are small in size but complex in culture.
